Before it was a hit Broadway musical, The Lost Boys was a horror classic starring Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Dianne Wiest, Kiefer Sutherland and Jami Gertz.
Joel Schumacher directed the 1987 film, which follows Michael Emerson (Patric) as he falls in love with a girl named Star (Gertz) and is pursued by a local gang of teenage vampires (Sutherland, Alex Winter, Billy Wirth and Brooke McCarter). Meanwhile, Michael's younger brother Sam (Haim) and his friends Edgar (Corey Feldman) and Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) try to battle the head vampire Max (Edward Hermann) — who's courting Michael and Sam's single mother, Lucy (Wiest).
The film's success spawned two sequels and two comic book series and cemented Haim and Feldman's teen idol statuses by featuring "the Two Coreys" on screen together for the first time.
Here's a look at where the stars of The Lost Boys are now, nearly 40 years after the film's premiere.

After The Lost Boys, Patric continued working in Hollywood and on the Broadway stage, including in a 2011 revival of That Championship Season with Sutherland.
He also became a father when his on-again-off-again partner of a decade, Danielle Schreiber, welcomed son Gus through in vitro fertilization in 2009. The former pair later engaged in a years-long court battle over custody of his Gus, which resulted in Patric being declared a legal parent to Gus and earning visitation rights in 2014. Schreiber reportedly prohibited the actor from contacting Gus before the ruling.

Haim was just 14 years old when he appeared in The Lost Boys.
Throughout his life, Haim battled addiction and was in treatment and recovery numerous times. His career suffered, and after the success of License to Drive (1988), most of his films were released direct-to-video or made for TV.
He took an extended break from the spotlight and re-emerged in 2007 with the reality series The Two Coreys with Feldman. The show ran for two seasons.
Haim, who called himself a "chronic relapser," died from pneumonia on March 10, 2010, at 38 years old.

In recent years, he has appeared on several reality TV shows like The Surreal Life, Dancing on Ice, Celebrity Wife Swap, The Two Coreys and Dancing with the Stars. He has also continued to work on music and toured with Limp Bizkit in 2024.
In February 2026, Feldman and ex-wife Courtney Anne Mitchell finalized their divorce after announcing their separation nearly three years prior. He was previously married to actress Vanessa Marcil from 1989 to 1993 and Susie Sprague from 2002 to 2014.

He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.

In 1990, Ressler co-founded the private equity firm Apollo Global Management, then Ares Management seven years later, which made him a billionaire.
Gertz starred in Twister in 1996 and had a recurring role on Ally McBeal from 2000 to 2002, but has since mostly stayed out of the spotlight, telling PEOPLE that her focus was on being a mom to her three sons.
In 2015, Gertz and Ressler bought the Atlanta Hawks NBA team for approximately $850 million.

Alex Winter, who starred as vampire Marko in The Lost Boys, has kept busy, even though he took a long break from acting.
Winter explained on the Small Bow podcast in April 2026 that he's an introvert by nature and needed more alone time than movie stardom offered him — as well as to recover from sexual abuse he suffered in the '90s.
"I did notice when I was young and acting in the movies in my 20s, and I'd already been on Broadway and done all this stuff as a kid, that I had a lot of trouble with letting go and to the degree where I just quit acting for a really long time," he said.
During that time, Winter launched his own production company in London, filmed commercials, wrote screenplays and raised his children, noting he has "no regrets" for taking time away from the spotlight to focus on himself.
He reunited with Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure costar Keanu Reeves in 2020 for Bill & Ted Face the Music, then once more in Waiting for Godoton Broadway. In April 2026, Winter joined his Lost Boys costar Billy Wirth on the red carpet for the Broadway adaptation's opening night.
