Supergirl just set a new DC record that nobody at Warner Bros. wanted. The film’s dismal final box office numbers reveal where it lands among the franchise’s biggest disappointments.

Supergirl is the lowest grossing live-action DC movie at Box Office since 2010’s Jonah Hex

Supergirl has ended its theatrical run with a disastrous worldwide gross of $125.9 million, according to Box Office Mojo. The film earned $72.1 million domestically and $53.8 million internationally from distributor Warner Bros. The PG-13-rated superhero film opened to $37.1 million domestically on June 26, 2026.

The worldwide total makes Supergirl the lowest-grossing modern DC film at the global box office. The film earned less than Blue Beetle, which grossed approximately $130 million worldwide during its full run. It also fell short of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which earned approximately $133.5 million globally.

However, Supergirl did outperform several notable pre-2010 DC flops at the worldwide box office. Steel earned just $1.8 million worldwide in 1997 during its full theatrical run in cinemas. Jonah Hex grossed approximately $10.9 million worldwide in 2010, while Catwoman earned $82.1 million in 2004.

The film opened across multiple international markets starting June 24, 2026, in the Asia Pacific region first. Australia led the Asia Pacific territories with a $4.2 million total gross during its entire run. The United Kingdom topped all European markets with a total of $7.8 million in gross revenue. Mexico led all Latin American markets with $4.7 million in total earnings throughout its theatrical run.

Domestically, the film dropped significantly after its $37.1 million opening weekend at the box office. The total domestic gross of $72.1 million represented 57.3% of the overall worldwide haul for the film. International markets contributed the remaining 42.7% of the total worldwide gross revenue. Japan earned $2.09 million, while South Korea brought in $967 thousand across its entire theatrical run. China contributed just $800 thousand to the overall international total for the film at the box office.

The action, adventure, drama, and sci-fi film ran for one hour and 48 minutes in theaters nationwide.
