Look at that baby! Today had an adorable little crasher — 4-month-old baby Willie — on Thursday, Oct. 1.

It began during one of Al Roker‘s forecasts. After the weatherman wrapped up the weather, co-anchor (and PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive Reader’s Choice poll nominee) Craig Melvin teased his pal, “Roker, your forecast, usually quite compelling, this morning apparently not so much.”

The camera then cut to a tiny baby boy passed out in his mom’s arms outside the studio in the Today Plaza. “That’s how I like to leave my audience — riveted,” Roker quipped. “He hears my voice, very soothing.”

But the bit continued when it came time for Carson Daly to do his “PopStart Sneak Peek” segment. The former TRL host jokingly shouted, “Wake up! Wake up little kid! Psst, baby. Carson’s here.”

The camera cut to the shocked-looking baby, blue-eyed and wide awake. “He’s startled, look!” Daly quipped. “That’s how we command attention in this crowded market.”

“He’s not even blinking! He can’t wait,” Savannah Guthrie said.

“You’ve got to go to where viewers are,” Daly noted.

After the commercial break, the Today co-hosts were delighted to welcome baby Willie into Studio 1A.

“Guys, Willie has entered the chat. Hi, boo boo! He’s from Alabama,” Guthrie said, while holding the little guy. She then impersonated baby Willie, saying, “I’m 4 months old. Hello! I’m the Baby Boost.”

Daly quipped, “I wanna feel the way Willie looks!” After they showed Willie the “Morning Boost” segment, he added, “We got him addicted to screens already. Great.”

“He’s got to watch the Today show somehow,” Jenna Bush Hager teased.

Baby Willie’s proud parents also joined him inside, but joked that Guthrie “could keep” the little guy.

“S.G., you’ve still got it!” Melvin told his co-anchor as she cradled and cuddled with Willie.

“No, this is just a perfect little baby,” Guthrie insisted, later noting, “I may never let him go.”

Bush Hager wanted to know if the little man was named after Sunday Today anchor Willie Geist, but Willie’s dad told the team, “He’s named after me.”

Later on, back outside on the Today Plaza, Willie was treated to a signature Today onesie and a sweet button, which was attached to his precious denim overalls.
