Stars are just like usâin that they also love McDonaldâs. You might think itâs all private chef creations and healthy meals for A-listers, but really, theyâre pulling into the Golden Arches drive-thru just as often as the rest of us.
Mark Ruffalo once ate a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, no onions, every other day for weeks while filming a movie. Adele says her death row meal would be Chicken McNuggets, a Big Mac, and friesâdespite the fact that she eats this exact combo âat least once a week.â Even Tina Fey once walked down the side of a highway in Italy just to get a McFlurry.
So itâs no surprise that WWE icon and actor John Cena is also a fan of a regular McDonaldâs run. What is surprising, though, is exactly what he ordersâand just how much of it.
John Cenaâs Go-To McDonaldâs Order
Take one look at John Cena, and you can probably guess he has a pretty serious appetite. Between his years as a WWE superstar, his action movie career, and his famously intense fitness routine, the guy has to eat. But even knowing all that, his McDonaldâs order is still more impressive than we expected.
In an interview with Today, Cena revealed that his go-to order is two double cheeseburgers and two six-piece orders of Chicken McNuggets, for a total of 12 nuggets. In an even more recent interview with Delish, that number rose to 18 nuggets. Thatâs enough nuggets to turn both cheeseburgers into âCrunchy Doublesââthe fan-favorite menu hack where you stuff McNuggets into your burgerâand still have a six-pack left over.

Itâs definitely a high in protein, which tracks for someone as active as Cena. And while it might sound like an indulgent meal, he says it actually fits right into his diet regimen.
âI start from a large scope of field, and for me, that starts with total calories,â he told Today. âMcDonaldâs does a great job because I know how many calories are in everything, so itâs perfect for someone like me, because I have a degree in exercise science and kinesiology, and Iâve been working out since I was 13 years old,â he shared.

But the most surprising part isnât the amount of foodâitâs that Cena eats every single nugget without sauce.
No Big Mac sauce. No Buffalo. No Honey Mustard. Nothing. But donât take that as a knock on McDonaldâs sauces. If anything, itâs a compliment. Cena says itâs because the nuggets are good enough to stand on their own.
âWhen it comes to foods that have an accompaniment, I always like to try the food itself,â he explained to Delish. âDoes the food deliver or do I need the sauce to make the food great? I donât need the sauce for the McNuggets.â
Then again, people like what they like.
Emma Stone always orders a No. 2 meal at Mickey Dâs, which comes with two cheeseburgers, but skips the cheese and all the condiments, leaving her with just meat, bun, and fries. Zendaya also has a pretty unconventional order, opting for an In-N-Out burger without the beef patty to fit her vegetarian diet.
So, we really shouldnât judge Cenaâs McDonaldâs order too harshly. That said, maybe if he gave McDonaldâs new Caesar sauce a try, heâd have a change of heart.
