Good Morning America's August adult book club pick is Take What You Can by Naima Coster. The plot follows Val and Milly, who became best friends after they fell in love with France on a study abroad trip in college. Now adults, Milly is a successful influencer married to restaurant royalty and Val is a journalist. When Milly asks Val to move to New York so they can raise their daughters together after a decade apart, Val agrees. But when they reunite, old secrets and truths come to light and Milly and Val are left wondering if they’ve just grown up or if they’ve grown apart as well.

“Take What You Can by Naima Coster is a dazzling story about the complex dynamic between two best friends as they navigate their changing relationship, marriages, class and motherhood,” says Good Morning America.
