David Boreanaz is sharing a touching tribute in memory of costar Chad Lowe’s late daughter.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, the Bones alum, 57, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram in honor of his former costar’s 13-year-old daughter, Fiona. In the photo, Boreanaz posed alongside Lowe’s younger daughters Nixie, 10, and Fiona, Lowe’s wife Kim Painter, and Boreanaz’s son Jaden, 24.

“My Deepest condolences to my friends Chad and Kim with the loss of their beautiful soul Fiona,” he captioned the post. “May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels. Lowe’s family shared the news of Fiona’s death in a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday, Sept. 29, writing, “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona.”

They remembered Fiona as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said, adding, “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”

Following the news of Fiona’s death, a source told PEOPLE that the teen’s school and community are coming together to honor her memory.

“The school and community are very inclusive, artistic, a warm place. Parents are friends and most are involved with the school. This is a devastating time for the community,” the insider told PEOPLE at the time. “The Lowe family is very involved and are at many school functions.”

“Fiona was sweet, quiet and kind. Dance was her biggest passion, she had a very artistic soul,” the source added. “She was always kind to other students. Many of her friends are out today grieving.”

Lowe, 58, and Painter, 52, welcomed Fiona on Nov. 16, 2012. She was the second of the couple’s three daughters. Their eldest, Mabel, is 17, and their youngest, Nixie, is 10. Last year, Chad, who’s the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, 62, shared an Instagram post celebrating Fiona entering her teenage years.
