Taylor Brown made it to the final three of Big Brother 28 by laying low and winning when she needed to. She made it to the final two with Rick Devens after he evicted Drew Campbell.

Throughout her time in the house, Taylor mostly slept in her pod, cleaned the house, cooked, and stayed out of the spotlight. Every person who was on the block against her went home. She was on the block six times.

Taylor won a Power of Veto in week four, and then laid low for the rest of the game. She didn’t win again until she was HOH in week 11, guaranteeing herself a spot in the final three. She also won part one of the final HOH competition. The night before the finale, Taylor convinced Devens that he wouldn’t win over Drew and told him to take her instead.

She aligned herself with LaTrice ā€œLalaā€ Verrett and Yash Patel, who both made it to the Jury, but she seemed to be liked by everyone as she made it to the final three. Even when Devens had to break the tie, he evicted Melody Morris over her.

Here’s what she said about her game, her second-place finish, and more.

Congrats on getting second place. How are you feeling?

Taylor Brown: I feel amazing. I feel great. I feel blessed.

You told Devens last night that if he had taken Drew, he would have lost the game. Was that a game move? Do you think Drew would have truly won the game?

No, I don’t think Drew would have truly won because I still would have probably voted for Devens. However, I knew it was a game move. I had to say what I had to say, do what I had to do to get in those final two seats and at least get a chance to plead my case.

You got second in a six-to-one vote. Did any of the votes surprise you? You just got Latrice’s vote.

No, not really. Only because Devens played a great overall game, and I know how people were talking and feeling about me all season. You live with these people, so because of that, I wasn’t surprised. Hey, I even knew that Devens was probably the honorable win of this season, and hey, I lost to a legend. Like, come on, man.

You really stepped up your competition wins towards the end of the game. Were you kind of holding back your abilities? Were those wins later on kind of all luck?

Towards the end, I knew I had the capability to do so. Now, maybe towards the beginning of the game, middle of the game, I didn’t feel like I needed to win. The only time I locked in, I was like, ā€œI have to win this,ā€ was that first veto, but towards the middle of the game, I was trying to win, and it was hard. You had people in the game like Drew and Yash and Dee and Devens and Lala. So hey, you can say all you want, but can you think those comps are easy to watch on TV? Those comps are not easy.

For a lot of the season, you kind of just laid in your pod or in your HOH room. Was that like a strategy to lay low? Were you just tired of everybody?

Out of everybody in this game, I played the most competitions. I played in all the HOH competitions except for part two; I played in eight vetoes, and I played in four blockbusters. I was tired, okay? On top of being tired, nobody in the house mentally stimulated me. It’s very exhausting to talk all day, and that’s just not something I do. And I know it’s a part of the social game. But I also feel like it would just be very fake of me to do that all day. ā€œOh, so how did you sleep?ā€ I don’t care how you slept. You know what I’m saying? Or you know, ā€œtell me more about your dog.ā€ I don’t care about your dog. But when I do ask, and I do inquire, and I do engage and interact, just know it was authentic. So hey, I think I appreciate that more than anything else.

How does it feel not to have to clean for all those people now?

Matthew Taplinger/CBS

Oh my god! Oh my god! Nasty a** house with nasty a** people doing nasty a** things. That house was always disgusting. I am the seasoned Cinderella because I cooked and I cleaned and I washed everything because they were completely lazy, and I probably don’t even clean this much at home. But it was just so bad that you have no choice but to do something about it, and I just never could understand. You gonna get me on a whole rant about it? I just could never understand how you see that, how you left that, how how and not do anything about it. Ask another question because we could talk about this for another 30 minutes. [laughs]

If you had won the final HOH, would you have taken Drew or Devens?

If I won the final HOH, I would have taken Drew. I would have definitely taken Drew. That would have been my biggest game move: was getting out Rick Devins.

Do you think you would have won over Drew?

I probably would have gotten more votes sitting next to Drew. I don’t know if I would have won, but I probably just would have honed in on the idea that I played a more honest and loyal game than Drew, and see where that would have taken me.

What would you say would be your biggest game move?

Well, I would say my biggest game move is that last-minute conversation with Devens and getting him to get me to those final two seats for sure. But obviously, what I thought was my biggest influential move. They say it wasn’t mine. So hey, guess we’ll never know.

You won $75,000 for seventh place for second place. Do you have any plans for your winnings?

So after taxes, right? Because you gotta think about taxes, I definitely am still grateful for that because it’s probably still more than I make in a year. So I’ll probably pay off some credit cards and save it for sure.

You work in a school. So do you think you’re gonna go back to your job this year or take some time off?

The earliest I would go back is probably January if I were to go back this year. But I know after this, I said I put my leave in for like mid to late October. But I really think that I am burnt out and just need to lay and do nothing with nobody around, no cameras or anything.

What did it mean to have your 28th birthday on season 28?

Oh my God! It meant a lot. It was very sentimental, and I said, coming into this house, I wanted to spend my 28th birthday in California, whatever that can mean, right? But as for me, it actually meant that I did it in the house, and for me to do it in the house means I made it to the final three, and that’s even bigger. So it’s a very monumental birthday, and it would have been even more monumental if I won. But hey, second place, I think that’s still solid.

I was just talking to Drew before this. You hid his hairbrush.

I sure did.

What was the reasoning for that?

So I was just extremely frustrated with Drew’s shenanigans, and so because of that, I said, ā€œWell, let me take the one thing that can probably take him off his game for the week.ā€ We know how much he cares about his hair, his hairbrush, looking in the mirror. So because I knew I probably would have had to go against him in the veto in the blockbuster. If you don’t look good, you don’t feel good. If you don’t feel good, you don’t do good. So that really was like, you know what? I’m gonna take your hairbrush.

Out of anybody in the house, who would have been your ideal final two with you?

My ideal final two would have been with Lala, only because even if that meant once again I still got second, right, so I know what it feels like, and I’m still grateful. But for Lala to get first place, it would have been monumental. It would have made history. But Lala wanted to be the oldest winner. And once again, as I always say, when I see Lala, I see me, and when I see me, I see Lala. So for Lala to accomplish that, that would have meant that I accomplished it as well because I would have helped her do that.

Aside from Lala, do you think you’re going to keep in touch with anybody else outside the house?

Definitely Lala, Yash, Kamu, and Jason. Those are definitely like my top four.

Were you surprised about Jason being on Drag Race?

I was not, because in my head I’m just thinking, how could you have not been on Drag Race? But it worked out because none of us, I guess, had seen it or knew he was on there. Maybe I should watch Drag Race more. So now I’m gonna go watch his seasons because I do not want to watch this.

Do you have any regrets or anything you would change about your game?

No, because I came in this house and I was myself. I was authentic. Everything I did, it was all me. I’m sorry for those I may have upset because of it, but once again, I had to leave this space and be okay with what I did. And it’s just a lot of things that other people. Could do, even though it was a game that I just couldn’t because I have little littles looking at me. I’m a role model, and so because of that, outside of my foul mouth, I think I did a good job of being as good as possible with that.
