Angry Orchard wants you to squeeze the most out of your ex’s junk.
The hard cider brand has launched the Angry Orchard Ex-Change program, which allows consumers to trade in abandoned junk from their exes in exchange for cash during the 2026 Valentine’s Day season.
“Valentine’s Day has a way of stirring up plenty of frustrations, and at Angry Orchard, we love helping our drinkers find the fun in all of it,” said Matt Withington, the brand’s senior director of marketing.
He continued, “The Ex-Change program lets our fans turn their breakup baggage into something they actually want: a fridge stocked with cider.”

Described as “the ultimate trade up,” Angry Orchard said all consumers have to do is register for a free Angry Orchard Ex-Change Kit, which includes packaging materials and a prepaid shipping label.
Packages sent to the Angry Orchard Cider House will then be sorted, and the unwanted contents will be donated accordingly.
As for examples of things the brand suggests consumers can send in?
“You can package up those painful reminders: the forgotten hoodie, dusty vinyl collection or that hideous poster that never matched anything in your place anyway,” Angry Orchard wrote on the Ex-Change program site.
